Lately I’ve been über obsessed with pineapples and not just in the edible way…Seriously though, what’s not to like?
Pineapples are nutrient-dense, in other words they are fully loaded with essential vitamins and minerals that boost immune function, bone strength, and eye health. Bromelain, an enzyme found in pineapple is actually used for reducing swelling and inflammation.
They have also earned their place in the home as a symbol of warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality. My first “piece” of pineapple was given to me by my Mother when my husband and I first moved in together – a hand carved wooden pineapple with gold detail. It sits on the window sill in the kitchen.
